Inexpensive Kitchen Revamp
Are you thinking if giving your Kitchen an upgrade, but don’t want to spend too much time or money on this project?
As Good Housekeeping explains, “the average kitchen remodel costs a staggering $21,751 — and high-end ones average nearly $50,909.” You don’t however need to make this project a time consuming and costly one. Whether you’ve lived in your house for years or you just got the keys, here are some simple and inexpensive ways to revamp your kitchen:
Install floating shelves over your sink area. These shelves can act as a space for storage, or a space for a little extra kitchen decor.
Paint your cabinets! A fresh coat of paint is an inexpensive alternative to getting a whole new set of cabinets installed, and goes a far way in freshening up your space.
Install new cabinet handles. Although this seems so minor, the small details really do make a significant difference.
Add a space for snacks that you or your kids can reach for. This makes for the perfect go-to spot for after work or school snacks, and looks organized too!
Change up your kitchen backsplash. I find the best way to get inspired on what back splash will suit your kitchen best is by looking through Pinterest. There are so many stunning options available, you’ll definitely find a few that you like!
Warm up your kitchen with a fresh coat of paint. As designer Michelle Ruber explains, “Kitchens are the room where people gather, foods simmer and conversations flow. Using colour to induce that warmth draws people in, and creates a space where people feel comfortable, and therefore want to linger.” You can recreate this look by adding warm tones such as an earthy green to a few walls in your kitchen, this is both inexpensive and time efficient!

Mix up your furniture choices! As Country Living explains, Windsor stools and a red-patterned rug may be more expected in the living room but adding a fun surprise in the kitchen makes for a refreshing change.
Lastly, give your kitchen pantry a makeover by sorting your shelving into categories such as baking supplies, grains, cereals, etc. I’d suggest transferring everything into matching (clear) bins, and baskets, each with their own label. This makes each item easy to find and creates a sense of visual order. I did this recently for my pantry and wow, what a difference!
