Kids’ room organization

One often overlooked aspect of preparing for back to school is getting your kids’ rooms in order. Here are some tips to help make getting your kids’ rooms ready for back to school a breeze.

  1. Declutter and organize: The first step is to clear out any clutter and organize the room. Donate old toys, books, clothes, and any other items that are no longer needed. Make sure everything has its place and is easily accessible. The more organized your child’s room is, the easier it will be for them to focus on their studies.
  2. Create a study area: Setting up a dedicated study area in your child’s room is essential for back to school season. Choose a desk and chair that are comfortable and conducive to studying and make sure the area is well-lit. Personally, I remember always wanting my desk to be directly in front of a window which can help improve your mood, reduce eye strain, and boost productivity! Encourage your child to personalize their study area with posters, calendars, and other decorations that will inspire and motivate them.
  3. Get the right storage solutions: Backpacks, sports equipment, musical instruments, and school supplies can quickly clutter up your child’s room. Invest in proper storage solutions, such as shelves, cubbies, or hooks, to keep everything organized and out of the way. Consider storage options that are easy for your child to use and encourage them to take responsibility for keeping their room tidy.
  4. Invest in quality bedding: A good night’s sleep is essential for academic performance, so investing in quality bedding is a must. Choose bedding that is comfortable, soft, and easy to clean!
  5. Decorate with motivation in mind: Decorate your child’s room with motivational posters, quotes, and artwork that encourage them to strive for success. Surrounding your child with positive messages can help inspire them to do their best and stay motivated throughout the school year.

As you get your kids’ rooms ready for back to school, don’t forget to involve your child in the process. Encourage them to take responsibility for their room and teach them to keep it organized and tidy – this was a large part of my childhood and it really help set the foundation for how organized I keep my spaces now!
